There may be times when you need to remove a product from being displayed on your website without permanently deleting it from your catalog. This could be due to products being temporarily out of stock, seasonal items that will be available later, or products that are currently being revised.

ReadyCMS allows you to manage product visibility easily, so you can control which products are shown to customers while keeping the product data intact in the backend.

Summary
There is an option to remove content from the website without actually deleting it: by changing the status of the content (in our case the product) from Published to Draft.

How to remove products from the website

To remove the product from the website, take the following steps:

  1. Login: Sign in to your ReadyCMS account
  2. Navigate: Go to the Shop > Products > All Products
  3. Select: Choose the product you wish to remove and click the Edit button
A CMS interface displaying the 'Products' section with 17 products listed. The products include 'Inpeddo Standard Complete Pine,' 'Inpeddo Melon,' 'Inpeddo Premium Complete Lucas Beaufort Smarty,' 'Inpeddo Skateboards Komplett Snake,' and 'Inpeddo Premium Complete Lucas Beaufort Smarty black.' Each product is displayed with columns for Title, Stock/SKU, Price (Tax Excluded), and Status. All products are marked as 'Published' in the Status column. A blue 'Add New' button is visible in the top right corner, and tabs for Categories and Tags are located above the product list.
  4. Edit page: This will open a new page where you can set the status to Draft
A CMS interface displaying the 'Edit Product' page for 'Inpeddo Standard Complete Pine.' The General tab is active, with fields for Title, Slug, and a text editor containing the product description. The description highlights the skateboard's versatility and features. On the right, the 'Publish' panel is visible, with options for changing the status (Published or Draft), visibility (Public), and other settings. The status dropdown is expanded, showing 'Draft' as the selected option. A green 'Save' button is at the top of the screen.
  5. Confirm: Click the Save button to confirm the changes

The product is now removed from the site, but it will still show on your product list.
