The checkout process is a critical touchpoint in the customer journey.

In ReadyCMS, you can tailor the checkout experience to match your business strategy and customer preferences. This includes defining whether customers can check out as guests, need to create an account, or have both options.

Understanding checkout options

Configuring the right checkout settings can significantly impact conversion rates and customer satisfaction. ReadyCMS offers three distinct checkout options:

  • Accounts are disabled: Streamlines the process for one-time customers. Guests can check out without creating an account, ensuring a quick transaction.
  • Accounts are optional: Offers the best of both worlds. Customers are prompted to create an account for future convenience but can choose to check out as guests.
  • Accounts are required: Ideal for businesses focusing on customer retention. Requires customers to register, facilitating better tracking and personalized experiences.

Setting your checkout preferences

Follow these steps to configure your checkout options:

  1. Log in: Access your ReadyCMS account.
  2. Navigate to checkout settings: Go to Settings > Shop > Checkout.
"A CMS interface displaying the 'Checkout' tab within the eCommerce settings. The page provides options for managing customer accounts during checkout. The three options include: 'Accounts are disabled' (customers will only check out as guests), 'Accounts are optional' (customers can check out with or without an account, with this option selected), and 'Accounts are required' (customers must have an account to check out). At the bottom, a green button labeled 'Update checkout settings' is available to save changes. Tabs for General Settings, Currency, Tax, Payment, Shipping, Stock, Locations, and Emails are visible at the top of the page.
  3. Choose your option: Pick the option that aligns with your business model.
  4. Save changes: Click Update checkout settings to apply your new configuration.

What's next?

After configuring your checkout settings, the next step is to set up your Shipping options. This will ensure a complete and functional eCommerce process, from product selection to order delivery.
